Alpha starts with a meal, then a short talk, followed by a small group discussion. The spirit of hospitality and inclusion is paramount to the success of Alpha. Alpha gives participants an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith and allows them to be heard and ask questions, with no question being too simple or too challenging. Some questions may include: Why do bad things happen? Where is God when tragedy happens? Why is there evil in the world? Does my life carry meaning? Is there a purpose for my life?.

Alpha provides a relaxed and easy way for all people to hear the gospel, no matter their age, no matter their situation. And the statistics are overwhelming - close to 50% of the guests on Alpha come into a relationship with Jesus for the first time or deepen their relationship with Him. (Barna Research)
